2010 Class Legacy Gift Pledge Campaign

Be a part of Loyola's tradition and legacy.  Make a pledge to the 2010 Class Gift and support the environment, your alma mater and future Loyola students.  The Class of 2010's goal is to raise funds to install solar panels that will be placed on the roof of the Fritz B. Burns Building.  The solar panels over time will provide cost savings to the Law School which will allow the funding of the Class of 2010 Public Interest Scholarship for 3L, 3E & 4E who have demonstrated a commitment to public service.  A symbolic check in the amount pledged by the members of the Class of 2010 will be presented to Dean Victor Gold at commencement.

Help us reach our goal, make a pledge today!

Join the tradition!
Make your gift today!
All pledges count!
(If every student makes a pledge of $125,
the class will raise $47,500.)

Any questions, feel free to contact Adrianna Correa at

Event Details:
Who: You and your classmates.

What: Evening Student Mixer.
When: March 11, from 8pm - 11pm

Where: Trader Vic's at LA Live

Why: Because it will be fun, and there will be free appetizers! Plus everyone else is going.

How: I suggest walking over there with your classmates after class, it's just a 5 minute walk. If you're going alone, I suggest other options.

SBA Suggestion Box Comments Revealed!

Dear Loyolans:

You've written suggestions, and we have some responses! Read on . . .

1. January's Turf Club Food was Questionable.

We think that you mean there was not enough. Agreed. We offer our apologies. Buying enough food for around 600 people is a tricky thing, and is a skill that takes practice to perfect. We think that quality may have been over-emphasized because the quantity was not enough. We will keep working on it!

2. Sonia's Needs To-go Containers!

It is in the works! The requests are in and Bon Appetit reports that eco-friendly to-go containers are coming.

3. Our Campus Looks Messy because of All the Sonia's Bins.

Fair enough. Sonia's is working on getting more bins out as well as providing to-go containers. Fixing this problem will be a team effort though. We all need to make sure that we are putting our plates in the bins and closing the lids at night after Sonia's is closed.

4. Can We Get Boba Tea?

Yeah! We'd love this, too! We will talk to the powers that be about this option.

5. The A/C is Too Cold in the Classrooms.

This is the age-old plight of the Loyolan. Satisfactory temperature adjustment has never been achieved by any Dean or SBA. We will continue to pursue warmth, but in the mean time, we suggest bringing a sweater to school.

6. Put More Sonia's Bins Around the Library.

We hear you. However, there is a counter-balancing policy at play here: Sonia's staff who collect the plates from the bins can only collect them so quickly. The more bins around campus, the longer it takes to collect the plates, the longer the plates sit, and the more trashy and smelly things get. Please do your best to walk your plates to the bins that are currently available.

7. Put More Recycling Bins on the 2nd Floor of the Library!

There are currently at least 3 on the 2nd floor. If you need more, we will carry your voice to the powers that be!
