Below you will find a short 9 question survey that will serve to inform Sonia's on whether they should stay open later during Finals and Reading Period.

It is IMPERATIVE that you fill out the survey as Sonia's will likely be making their decision, in large part, based on the amount of students that respond.

2010 Class Legacy Gift Pledge Campaign

Be a part of Loyola's tradition and legacy.  Make a pledge to the 2010 Class Gift and support the environment, your alma mater and future Loyola students.  The Class of 2010's goal is to raise funds to install solar panels that will be placed on the roof of the Fritz B. Burns Building.  The solar panels over time will provide cost savings to the Law School which will allow the funding of the Class of 2010 Public Interest Scholarship for 3L, 3E & 4E who have demonstrated a commitment to public service.  A symbolic check in the amount pledged by the members of the Class of 2010 will be presented to Dean Victor Gold at commencement.

Help us reach our goal, make a pledge today!

Join the tradition!
Make your gift today!
All pledges count!
(If every student makes a pledge of $125,
the class will raise $47,500.)

Any questions, feel free to contact Adrianna Correa at
(213) 736-1029 or adrianna.correa@lls.edu.

Event Details:
Who: You and your classmates.

What: Evening Student Mixer.
When: March 11, from 8pm - 11pm

Where: Trader Vic's at LA Live

Why: Because it will be fun, and there will be free appetizers! Plus everyone else is going.

How: I suggest walking over there with your classmates after class, it's just a 5 minute walk. If you're going alone, I suggest other options.

SBA Suggestion Box Comments Revealed!

Dear Loyolans:

You've written suggestions, and we have some responses! Read on . . .

1. January's Turf Club Food was Questionable.

We think that you mean there was not enough. Agreed. We offer our apologies. Buying enough food for around 600 people is a tricky thing, and is a skill that takes practice to perfect. We think that quality may have been over-emphasized because the quantity was not enough. We will keep working on it!

2. Sonia's Needs To-go Containers!

It is in the works! The requests are in and Bon Appetit reports that eco-friendly to-go containers are coming.

3. Our Campus Looks Messy because of All the Sonia's Bins.

Fair enough. Sonia's is working on getting more bins out as well as providing to-go containers. Fixing this problem will be a team effort though. We all need to make sure that we are putting our plates in the bins and closing the lids at night after Sonia's is closed.

4. Can We Get Boba Tea?

Yeah! We'd love this, too! We will talk to the powers that be about this option.

5. The A/C is Too Cold in the Classrooms.

This is the age-old plight of the Loyolan. Satisfactory temperature adjustment has never been achieved by any Dean or SBA. We will continue to pursue warmth, but in the mean time, we suggest bringing a sweater to school.

6. Put More Sonia's Bins Around the Library.

We hear you. However, there is a counter-balancing policy at play here: Sonia's staff who collect the plates from the bins can only collect them so quickly. The more bins around campus, the longer it takes to collect the plates, the longer the plates sit, and the more trashy and smelly things get. Please do your best to walk your plates to the bins that are currently available.

7. Put More Recycling Bins on the 2nd Floor of the Library!

There are currently at least 3 on the 2nd floor. If you need more, we will carry your voice to the powers that be!

My So Called 90's Bar Review

FRIDAY, February 12th, Loyola Law School gives into its guilty pleasure. No, I'm not talking about the Jersey Shore... I'm talking about doing the humpty dance at the 90's BAR REVIEW! We all deserve a break from livin' la vida law school, especially those 1Ls who have been busting tail to finish their memos. So come out with your funky bunch and party like it's 1999!

The venue has changed, but the 90's party remains the same! The event has been getting a lot of hype, so to ensure line priority to LLS students (and beverage specials), the venue has been changed to Club 740! Speakeasy style entrance through the alley on 8th street between Spring and Broadway. Shuttles to/from school drop off/pick up near between 9PM-2AM.

Drink specials will be available BEFORE 11PM with $4 Beers, $5 Shots, and $6 Martinis!

Your $5-9 suggested donation goes to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Event starts at 8:30PM. Be sure to bring your LLS IDs!

Attention DJ mix-a-lots! Think you could rock the house with your jammin' 90's beats? Email me your fav 90's songs to put on our DJ's request list.

Loyola Night at the Kings Game! This Tursday (2/4) @ 7:30PM!

Friends!

If you didn't make it to the last Loyola Night at the Kings Game, you MISSED OUT! Don't fret though, cause we're doing it again! Join us at the Staples Center this Thursday @ 7:30PM to watch the Kings play the Anaheim SDucks for the LLS Student Only price of $15 per ticket!

The last time the teams met, LLS saw the Kings hand the Ducks a royal beat down by winning in a 4-goal shutout. Ducks will face the monumental task of defeating a team that's returning from a perfect road trip and a 6-game win streak. The Ducks-Kings rivalry runs deep; with Bobby Ryan's cheap shot on Kings' forward Oscar Moller at the end of the last game, there's sure to be some fists flying this time around.

To get tickets, stop by the SBA office in B-155 or contact your section representative.

Hope to see you all there!

Law School Night at the Kings Game!

We know that this is last minute, but our external social chair, Kerry Bonas, has just finalized a deal with Staples Center for discounted tickets to this Thursday's LA Kings game against the Anaheim Sucks Ducks. The Loyola Group will receive, with our tickets, a Chalk Talk from a member of the Kings coaching staff to discuss strategy for the game that night.
WHERE: Meet in front of the Gretzky Statue, Staples Center
WHEN: THIS THURSDAY, 6:15 PM, game starts at 7:30 PM
HOW MUCH: $15 (Face Value $30!)
WHY: Because you love Hockey, or you love Loyola, or you love the food at Staples Center, or you have never been to a Chalk Talk, or you have no friends.

HOW TO GET TICKETS?!: Email Seth or Omid at seth.weiner@lls.edu or omid.haghighat@lls.edu to put your name on the list.  Non Loyola students are welcome.  OR come to the SBA office (B129- next to the Ping Pong Tables) Tuesday 1-2, 5-6 Wednesday 12-1, 5-6, or Thursday 12-1.

Unfortunately only a very limited number of tickets are available, so first come first served.
